Why have the other DEVO CDs been remastered and arguably their two best
have not?

I have asked Devo this and got no answer. It is ridiculous and a
travesty. That's probably why they never replied...they probably feel
the same way.

Those two have been continuously in print on Warners, right? While the
new "remasters" were OOP. I've never bought any of those CDs (my vinyls
are still in good shape). Do they sound as bad as people say the Virgin
discs sound? I would have thought Devo would have gotten the "deluxe
reissue" treatment by now, at least for the first four albums.

IMHO, the Warner CDs sound better than the Virgin ones.

But I don't hate the Virgin CDs as much as most people here. In fact I
think Virgin's packaging is far worse than the sound quality. They look
cheesier than they sound.

A/B'ing the songs from the Virgin CD's with the same tracks from the
WB albums proves that there is no discernible sound differences,
except the stereo fields are reversed on a couple song. But there's a
HUUUUUUGE difference for the better with the Infinite Zero, Rhino and
Collectables releases.

That's for sure. Collectables' reissues are only slightly less
cheesy, but at least they sound good.
