The RIAA is going after the samll, independent Internet Webcasters.

Ther are demanding 30% of the revenues, even if the webcasters do play
lables that are part of teh RIAA!

But, those webcast sites that are owned by the large corporations like
AOL, Clearchannell, etc. have alrady been given a sweetheart deal to
keep them up and webcasting!

Help support one of the few Stations who are standing up to the RIAA,
(they stood up to them in 2002 and won) to stop this extortion!

go to www.3WK.com and donate to the cause!

Stick it to THE MAN!

This bites massive ass. Is this why a bunch of my WINAMP bookmarks are
going dead?

How does one "support" the cause? Most of us ain't got enough money to
fund an effective legal challenge.....

Both the MPAA and RIAA are going after everyone who has anything to do with
copy rights and most small companies and individuals can't fight their
lawyers. The latest info on the battle can be read on Slyck.com

http://www.slyck.com/index.php

It's the whole BetaMax Fight all over again. They want so nothing can be
copied on any form of recording. The worst part is they pump so much money
into both political parties they have most of the support of House and
Senate. DVR, Downloading, DVD recorders and CDR's are all at risk in many of
their law suits. Even though you pay for the right to listen to a radio, TV,
Movie or Disc they claim you have no right to copy it in any form even if
you intend to only make back up copies or a mix disk.

As littel as much as you want.

I sent in $25 to get their "Fighting Cock t-shirt"

But via the "tip jar" you can give what you can afford.

By the way, 3WK, is a true "Mom & Pop" operation out of st. Louis.

The Owners, Jim & Wanda Aktinson, worked for years in the Radio
Business. Jim experianced the brunt of the "Clear Channels", etc, take
over of the airwaves, the the susiquent "dumbing down" of FM.

After he (and most of teh others DJ's) got fired form one of the last
independent FM Statiosn in the area, the started the Internet Statiion.
This was in 1997.

For years they were operating "under the radar" untill the Station was
put on Microsoft's Media Player "recomended" sites. Not soon after they
got their first letter from the RIAA.

This has been a ongoing fight between the small guys and "Rod E.
Rooter" of Big Entertainment.

By the way, only about 3 or 4 artists they play are on lables that
belong to the RIAA.
