One of ultra cool college teachers, who is a Devo fan, told me to look
up a feud between the Wild Boys (or something similar) and Devo. Google
didn't do it, so I figure this group would be a good place to go.
Either a link to a detailed analysis, or your personal take, would be
appreciated.

I think you're thinking of the Dead Boys.

Wasn't really a feud, actually. Cheetah Chrome pulled Mark's shorts
down on stage a couple times, and Mark would make fun of him for being
everything they were against. I think Devo made more out of it than
what was really there.

According to the unauthorized bio, members of the Dead Boys also
instigated a fight which resulted in Devo's fans beating themselves up.

I get the impression that both bands enjoyed having a "nerds vs.
juvenile delinquents" -type rivalry - it played up both of their
images. But yeah, more for show than any actual "feud".

Oh sure...it did both bands a world of good to have this "feud,"
although it seems like Devo ultimately came out the "winners." But it
definitely created a buzz at the time for both bands.
