It took close to THREE YEARS for anyone to notice this news story?
Are you sure it didn't turn into that Farrelly Bros. Three Stooges
movie somewhere along the way?

speaking for myself, if it's stuck in "development hell" that's
probably a GOOD THING. looking back on it, i think the last new dose
of devo, SOMETHING FOR EVERYBODY, pretty much stank.
I thought it was brilliant, BTW.
that's cool, jimmy. i listened to it for a week and shelved it. really,
PLEASE BABY PLEASE was the only thing i found myself wanting to hear again,
and then only because it's damned catchy. first two songs are passable,
though i'd burned out on them by the time i bought the record. STEP UP,
CAMEO, & NO PLACE LIKE HOME make the second side impenetrable for me. three
or four tracks as an EP (of original mixes -- talk about over-produced)
might have worked better.
NOODLE MAPS, hell, even the godawful TOTAL gets played once every other
year*; i don't think i'll ever have the need to go back to their latest,
and probably last, studio offering.
* the notion of warming to TOTAL DEVO like i did with SHOUT always vanishes
about thirty seconds after hitting play. but, time takes the edge off a
painful memory and i keep trying with it. we must repeat.
