OK, so Devo has 16 confirmed shows for this summer. How long do you
think it will take them to get tight enough not to have any train
wrecks? I predict they will first get tight on the 4th show in
August. But then they will have a couple days off and they'll have to
get tight again, which should happen after the DC shows. They'll be
tight after that.

I'd still go see 'em if they weren't tight. They've never been
completely perfect onstage but they always sounded better live than on
albums.

Well concidering that they have been playing most of these songs for
20+ years, I'd say they could play them in their sleep

The Stones are actually stored in hereticly controlled rooms between
tours.

They are all dried and decsicated.

When they tour, the roadees just add water to temp. rehydrate them.
They they attach strings to operate them like puppets.

After a few hours in the sun, they have to go back into storage as they
begin to smell funny.

Ever tried to get your 40-ish/50-ish fingers to play barre chords for
an hour? Even songs you know in your sleep become challenging, believe
me.

Out of curiousity, Boom....if you don't care if they're "tight," why
bother asking the question?

Because it's pretty amazing that they've been playing these songs for
almost 30 years now and still make as many clams as they do. Hey,
everyone makes clams onstage sometimes, but last year's shows that I
heard had a lot of them. I would go see them anyway, but I prefer
them when they're playing well.

When you get breed, how many young you drop? All good workers, no
soft-heads for to make animal feed?

Well, Devo isn't their day job anymore.

Though I suppose I'm more allowing for mistakes, as I didn't get to see
them live until way after Devo ceased to be their day job (1996).

I have it on good authority the Minimoogs should sound nice though. :-)

No excuse. You charge $30 a ticket, you owe it to the people who come
out to play well. And though some might disagree with me, you need to
do a 90 minute show if you headline. Having said that, I work with
oldies acts who very rarely do more than an hour when they headline.
But you're talking 60-70 year old people with maybe 3-4 hits tops
and...oh...sounds like I'm talking about Devo, doesn't it? Never mind
;)

Well, they made a fair amount of clams back in the day, too, but at
least it wasn't in every song.
