I'm looking for scans of "my struggle". I've seen download links to it
but they have all been dead (makes sense, since they were years old).
Does ANYBODY have this? if so, could you host it somewhere?
Thanks

I have a copy of the book that I got an an auction quite a long time
ago. It would be a really big job to scan it, and I'm afraid it would
bend it up pretty bandly in the process, as it is very small and bound
pretty tightly. So, I really don't want to do that. However, I've got
the very slightly censored version in the form of 297 JPB files. It was
among the secret hidden stuff on the old Adventures Of The Smart Patrol
video game CD-ROM. I've posted it here for you to download:

I have a different problem now, no programs I have (photoshop,
irfanview, the gimp, windows picture viewer, paint) can open these
files. the only usefull error message I came up with is that the gimp
said it started with 0x00 0x05.

any idea?

Hmm...yeah, something is funny there, although I can open the files ok.
Ok, I just converted them in a way that should have been lossless, and
reposted the archive. Clear your brower's cache and try downloading it
again.

An embarrassingly high price, showing my psycho-collector-ness! A
little over $300 if I remember correctly...

well, I'm going to assume you're on a mac because I could only get the
files to open with quicktime.
At first, I only tried the files that began with a ".", and they won't
open in anything, not even quicktime. I didn't even notice the other
files. I tried them and irfanview said I was missing a quicktime
plugin. so I tried quicktime and it worked :p

I wish I could convert it to a readable jpg though so I didn't have to
use QT

I'm on a Mac, but I don't quite understand what's going wrong. As best
I can tell, these files are standard cross-platform JPG files. I'm not
sure what conversion I can do with them to make them readable for you,
but if you have any ideas, I'm listening. I use an app called
GraphicConverter, which opens and saves a really long list of formats,
from common stuff like JPG to really obscure stuff.

By th way, ignore those files that begin with a "." as those are Mac
desktop files that have info about window plcement, icon position, etc.
I guess I didn't pay attention and included them in the ZIP archive by
mistake. The only files that matter in the arhive are the 297 MSXXX.JPG
files.

Allow me to add my two cents to this situation.

The JPEGs of My Struggle from the Smart Patrol CD-ROM game are the
single biggest cyber-enigma that I've ever encountered in my life. When
a pack of them was posted a few years back, I could only open 5 or 6
out of the 200something in there. On a burned copy I have of the game,
it's pretty much the same situation, but with different pictures. On my
actual retail copy of the game, they all open fine. Ther is no simple
solution to the problem.

well, I finally managed to convert them to gif's. much smaller file
size with no noticable loss in quality. I had to get the quicktime
plugin for irfanview, it wouldn't open the JPG's correctly.

Thanks again!
