Hey spuds,

We've actually got two torrent downloads for you this time around.

First up is the Desi-Devo mini gig from NYC. I forgot to mention it in
the info file, but Malcolm Tent did a bang-up job with this recording.
Really excellent renditions of two DEVO classics.

Mainly, though, we're offering the first disc of unreleased demo
material we've got. This wonderful compilation was put together by
David Plunkett, which he should be thanked for.

Check them totally out!

I think the torrent files are busted, I see a non-routable local IP
address for the bittorrent-announce, http://192.168.2.1:8080/announce,
which can't be right...

Hey, thanks for your ongoing efforts. The Basement is a goldmine.

Lately though, I've had a problem with Booji torrents. I'm a long-time
Bit Torrent user, as my huge stack of backup DVDs and filled hard drives
demonstrate. But, the last several Basement torrents just won't work
for me. "Problem connecting to tracker", "<urlopen error [10050]
network unreachable>" errors, etc. Maybe I've missed some special step
I must take to grab these DEVO rarities?

Indeed. I thought my trouble with the pittsburg show was a fluke but now
cannot start either new offering. I'm not the torrent master but happy to
learn whats going on.
Thanks for the great site!

We're working on getting this problem fixed.

Here's the situation with the tracker. The tracker itself is our good
buddy Jason's home computer. It's served us relatively well since we
started offering torrents a month or so ago. His IP began to randomly
change recently, which is why the Pittsburgh torrent stopped working
after a time.

Right now, we have no idea what's wrong. People are connected to the
tracker and it's buzzing with activity, but there's just no information
being sent out. I'll be posting whenever this is solved.

Until then, sorry about the delay.

The tracker comes up as a 192.168.X.X IP, which is one the of the
subnets defined as private, so it's impossible to route across the
internet to any 192.168.X.X address. I assume he's behind some kinda of
NAT router (like one of those typical home routers used to share your
connection with multiple computers), and the 192.168.X.X address is his
computer's IP address in the private subnet behind that router.
Assuming he has the proper port mapped in his router so incoming
connections on that specific port(s) to the router go to his computer,
the trackers needs to be defined as the external IP address of the
router, rather than his actual computer.
