Boy, for a guy who thought stringed instruments were obsolete, Mark
sure uses a fair amount of guitar on his soundtrack work. Maybe Bob 2
talked some sense into him. Or maybe Mark got better on guitar and
decided it wasn't such a bad instrument after all. At any rate, I'm
glad to see him come to his senses. Maybe if he'd thought that way
during Devo's album-releasing years I would have liked their later
stuff better.
I'm really digging this soundtrack. This is Mark's best work yet.
I'd like to see him venture off into some complex chordal stuff more
often (he mostly sticks with major and minor) but he's at least added
it to his repertoire like on "We Call Them Pirates Out Here." And
even the cheesy Casiotone songs are pretty cool in their own way.
Nice going, Spud!
